It's June at last, so that means it is 13 years since the launch of THE BEACH TOWEL CLIP.
10 long years since the 100% UK made, multi award winning beach accessory first hit the beaches and shelves around the world.
When I first launched the product in 2010 I managed to get new stockists in over 30 countries around the globe, this lead to lots of press coverage, appearances on TV, radio and even an invite to Buckingham Palace!
So how do you come up with an idea or invention to simply stop your beach towel blowing away? Simple really, if you have an idea, do something about it, before somebody else does.
I came up with the idea sat on the beach in Ibiza, wondering how to stop the large beach sheet blowing away when I got up for a dip in the sea. Clearly it wasn't a daft idea, as when I returned to Ibiza having put holes in the corners of the sheets & using metal tent pegs (silly idea as they rust) somebody had copied me & actually came over and said he had seen my idea and copied it.
Back to the drawing board, grants and designs in place and the beach towel clip was launched.
